the controls are pretty simple (roll, pitch, yaw, accelerate/decelerate) and rotation speed is currently impacted pretty heavily by how fast you're moving

a full minute of me flying around with no purpose for #screenshotsaturday (I'm a little late)
(look at all of my prototype nonsense)

also I really want to get back to game development but evidently I need to unfuck my sleep schedule first. I'm too used to seeing 4AM and thinking "ok time to go to bed" and not "oh dear god"

I made this... thing in the Godot web editor because why not
a strange gob of fluctuating red and black mass, vaguely ball-shaped.

I was thinking about maybe making a video about Minecraft (seeing if I can find anything in the game I am interested in doing at all) but I don't think now is the time to support Microsoft's bullshit in any capacity

ok but like why does this actually kind of work
a prototype of a game using a noise texture for faux clouds.

for only using noise and a gradient this doesn't look half bad
a realtime 3D render of a prototype jet flame, rendered atop a purple void.

the minecraft enchantment glint effect wasn't interesting to implement so I decided to try something I might use later

shaders are fun to play with
a low-poly capsule mesh being turned into a glowing gusher by a shader A torus mesh with truly bizarre glossy lighting thanks to a shader

The reason this happened was that the map was 2500x2500 units so Godot made the lightmap absolutely MASSIVE, resulting in it using too much RAM, and making it so I had to kill it with task manager because the cancel button didn't work
The fix was simple, just reducing its lightmap scale to 0.1

thank you bluesky for not making some horrible buzzing noise for a video with no audio

Started learning how to use shaders

the Godot icon makes a pretty decent placeholder texture

First post here! - behold, spaghetti code prototype
(music added so bluesky doesn't manifest a horrible buzz like it did last time)
