✨Found a favorite going thru photos from our Lapland northern lights camp roadtrip. Started in Rovaniemi, drove Sweden looking for clear sky, ended up driving the whole coast Bodø to Skibotn, thru Alta to Nourgam, up to Vardø, down to Utsjoki, inari & back to Rovaniemi! We saw aurora most nights✨

Next year will be the 30th celebration! So hopefully you can make it. I heard they are releasing over ten more condors before the end of the year in addition to the 5 for release day.

Had fun at the 29th annual condor release day at Vermillion Cliffs National Monument for public lands day. Was worried the event would be canceled but it all worked out. Only got to see #1254 leave the pen though but look forward to spotting them all in the wild soon.✨🪽

They won’t be happy until they’ve mined or paved over ever inch of our public lands and rented the use of it back to us.

Very underrated and the new visitor center is awesome! They had an astronomy talk and telescopes but the clouds came in.

From hikes around Cedar Breaks last weekend. I’d been out of town for a while so no time for hiking or camping.

I’ve been keeping an eye on watch duty’s website. Last I checked it’s about 50k acres and almost to house rock road. I saw someone post from Jacob lake that it’s moved away from the Inn. I hope that can start to get it under control soon :(

I hoping for an update that Jacob Lake survives these fires :(

I really hope they are able to start getting the white sage fire under control soon. I keep checking the fire watch website hoping to see something that indicates it’s getting contained and not getting any bigger.

Very sad to learn about the loss of the historic north rim lodge. It was one of my favorite places to visit. I’m thankful no one has been injured or worse, but still sad about the north rim structures. Currently worrying about the white sage fire as well that is huge and very close to town.
