I am a small irish devil who makes poor art with my stubby hopeless fingers. I also like RPGs that don't exist. [bridged from https://dice.camp/@Printdevil on the fediverse by https://fed.brid.gy/ ]

@SubplotKudzu

What is the best way to make a fake-red kite for a Charlie Brown musical, which is easy to control and not a faff to get on and off stage? Helium tried and abandoned as worked in concept but terrible in actual use.

@Taskerland this is is all our games done as cosplay for a Paris fashion show.

Folkhorror has hit the big time.

I am to excuse the swearing, fucking *theatrical* when one of my children interrupts me reading. I'm like a cosplay Great Uncle Bulgaria from the Wombles, and I faff with my glasses and get up from repose like I'm being winched by poltergeists.

I'd say it has over time decreased interruptions […]

@Colman If you wanted to dip further back Tacitus cites the rules of hospitality in one of his books about who could stay and what you had to provide them. Again, all euro-centre/scandi stuff though.

@Colman "Ye olde good inn guide : a Tudor traveller's guide to the nation's finest taverns" is another great book, there's some serious content, but I'd imagine everyone will recommend it, it's quite well known - it's up on Archive.org

@Colman "From Taverns to Gastropubs: Food, Drink, and Sociality in England" by Christel Lane has a great chapter or two on the look of accommodation. very descriptive. It's an Oxford Press book available via lots of research sites. Obviously very Anglocentric but well referenced to find other […]

Apparently theres a new wave of people joining mastodon, and with them a new wave of self-appointed cops "welcoming" them with long lists of mostly fictitious "rules" they need to follow.

This is a social media platform, with many of different ways to use it. It's fine. Mostly, just try to be […]

Disney have always ... secretly planned to return to doing Blackbeard's Treasure as a plot. They had to wait a long time for Doomsday, but it was there.. all the time.. right in front of us.

#blackbearddoomsdayplot
the book cover to "Blackbeard's Ghost" from Disney, showing Peter Ustinov.

Like but with more time spent on it and better typefaces..

I think this sort of thing would be a goer..

What wait... Martin Who?

Never heard of it...

"Only gargoyles in the churchyard" post totally ripped off the Only Murders in the Building one.

Bok is seen leaning in off the church.

Getting a bok silhouette on the stairs took far far too long and I'm not fixing the aberration around the text because it's a joke *scowl*

"Only Gargoyles in the Churchyard" is a show that needs made.

A cozy crime detective show, with perhaps more orange smoke than most.

While I'd research almost anything for a plot I'm refusing to do this.

“I see; that's a very interesting concept.”

“Personally, I find […]

@BigJackBrass That's my eternal problem with Patrick Troughton episodes, my sisters and brother all went "oh it was all so great"

and after years of imagineering them with Target novels, when I see them I go "oh, is that it?"

@BigJackBrass my local pub has a staggeringly well attended Uke night. I think all the local places are bringing back live stuff.
printdevil.dice.camp.ap.brid.gy
@BigJackBrass well I have to admit I was unlikely to see a mega band. I do think having a community owned venue, that isn't beholden to the council etc, has been very healthy. Locally the art community have gone the same route and bought their own places, taking over abandoned banks. It's fairly […]
