Props to Dr. Oz--or a dude who looks like him?--for doing something that actually helps, for possibly the first time ever

A little over a year. I’m so sorry we didn’t know to connect while you were here! NM is absolutely amazing. Nature, food, people, climate— it’s just incredible.

Local restaurants are offering free meals to children, because the situation is that dire.

I love the second picture in your set. I know exactly where you're standing. 🙂

Yesterday, my husband went up Domingo Baca, connected to the Crest Trail, LL, Tramway, and back down to our house. 17 miles. He said it was ROUGH.

We've never successfully found the part past where it connects to LL. We just use the lower part between Tramway and LL, so I can look over longingly at the switchbacks on LL and imagine how chill it must be over there.

Our backyard borders Cibola. We walk our dog up there every evening.

Next time you want to get right to the brutal bit, park at Juan Tabo picnic area. Get on Tramway Trail toward LL. Before you reach LL, turn right and go up Old La Luz. It connects to LL up higher. Good way to avoid the casual hikers at the beginning of LL on a nice day. Prepare to collapse a lung.

Sending so much love to all my people in Rogers, Humboldt, Albany, Little Village, Pilsen, Cicero, South Shore. And sending my eternal gratitude to the Chicagoans who are giving ICE no quarter. Chicago protects its own.

The same goes for 2025: as for me and my house we prefer to celebrate the people who open their homes to the lost and close their businesses to ICE.

I mean, everybody can have whatever heroes they want, but as for me and my house we prefer to celebrate the people who opened their homes to the lost, rather than the people who saw that charity as an opportunity to murder and steal.

Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day.
