Recently finished 'Case file n°221 Kabukicho' with family^^
Overall it's an interesting interpretation of Sherlock Holmes, I enjoyed it✨ Some themes are treated in a somewhat meh way, and apart from a few more well-defined ones the supporting characters are really (1/2)

Flik & Viktor simply cannot be separated (but if you really want to know, my favorite character in the entire series is 🐻) 😚💖✨

Be very careful with the layering of mixed media...because some markers didn't mix well with watercolor pastels. You shouldn't exaggerate👀💦

My best friends, I use them on top of everything! Both watercolors and markers! They help to better define lights and shadows, shades and contours! It's an absolutely fundamental part for me😤
Especially for the characters skin! Adachi soft blush 😌👌🏻🩷✨

The only thing I can say is to trust the process🤣!
Halfway I feel like I've done everything wrong but in the end things come out well (watercolors always make me doubt myself. but I continue to use them 8D)🤣🤣🤣

It helps me balance the characters colors and because watercolors are more 'messy'.
The Yellow fog was mandatory😏✨
(The details of the various panels are taken from various japanese prints, stamps and kimonos put together^^)

(compared to the initial sketch I corrected Adachi's height and physique a bit for his ego lol I'm still a strong supporter that he's 1.73m tall lolol 😏✨)

For those interested, I use this one which hold up well many different traditional media (not too thick because otherwise when use the light table I can't see anything and I lose the most minute details👀💦)

But I wanted to show everything as much as possible (I sacrificed the maple leaves) 😭✏️✨

Background and characters kept separate so as not to go crazy🖼️✏️✨

I wanted to make a little thread about the process for this illustration (on which I worked for a month)
It's been a long time since I'd the opportunity to take care of a drawing like this, with all the necessary time. It made me happy to participate in this zine🥲
