So much this. I want to know a human cared to create a thing. I’ll even give that there is a skill to learning to make a machine output art. However the machine didn’t give a shit about the art so neither do I. A 30 second hand drawn sketch at any skill level is more interesting than the best AI art
on the one hand flooding the world with AI shit is wasteful and sucks and is dangerous but on the other I have a new sense of appreciation for absolutely anything a human mind or hand has crafted. and as a creative the bar being lowered to "at least I actually -made- this" has been freeing
