lol yes being 17ish when it came out it had a particular resonance.

I think that probably started when she said it looks weird if you have two brides or two grooms, or when she told me my dad* (*she) wouldn’t like it if I married a black man. Ffs.

Yeah it wasn’t great, although I do like nothing changes round here. I had a giant poster of that album cover when I was a teenager because I’d gone to an album launch thing in a bookshop. My mum did not like it.

This RE teacher was the BEST though. Told us loads of ghost stories, has an intense amount of “collections” (including a real dalek from Dr Who), and told us all about being a Freemason. And which other teacher was a Mason. Also taught both my parents.

I will point out I went to a v normal secondary school; there was just a headteacher in the 70s who was really into local history. Apparently the school is built on land the Knights Templar owned.

So, I went to a school named “The Knights Templar School” (a headteacher was very into local history and they owned the land it was built on apparently), and then in 97 they did a school trip to Israel which was not a crusade.
