So it seems hospitality will get it’s vat rate cut yet you still can’t get the tax carers credit if you’re not married.

Marvellous stuff

Worst remake of Craig David’s seven days yet
quiatimet.bsky.social
There’s always been a circus element there but I’d say decent candidates just said immediately no when they realise ff and fg had shut that door
quiatimet.bsky.social
Not a chance. Enough ructions over a similar style of vote for von der lyns job.
quiatimet.bsky.social
They resign pres commission acts and fresh election

The whole ff nonsense has really shown now how it’s a ridiculous idea to block council noms by parties. Parties have no constitutional position. Local gov and oireachtas do. Transplanting the whip through bodies is ridiculous.

For the record: it is not possible, at this juncture, to officially withdraw or to remove a name from the #aras25 ballot paper.

Jim Gavin’s name will remain on the ballot for Friday 24th, merely with no campaign behind it.

Well failing upwards have a lot of politicans where they are now if you think about it 😂

Gavin was never the right candidate. I hope he refunds his tenants and goes back to his day job and lives in peace. The fault here lies with whatever bright spark though he was a good candidate and never did their research.
quiatimet.bsky.social
Not a chance. He’s probably stress eating them while redoing his spreadsheets
quiatimet.bsky.social
Ah great that’s the whole thing banjaxed. His nom was ruled on. Sure his name is even on the ballot. He’ll feckin accidentally win this now.
quiatimet.bsky.social
Well now someone’s done the digging thankfully

@iamreddave.bsky.social has found Section 30(1), Presidential Elections Act, 1993 doesn’t allow withdrawals

Ffs couldn’t comment. It’s too late and I’m cackling too much
quiatimet.bsky.social
You might think that but I could actually comment
quiatimet.bsky.social
When numberwang was already mentioned by @tupped.bsky.social today and you get another one it’s a numberwang national holiday
quiatimet.bsky.social
Well at least Jim will have a presence on the ballot rather than a vision
quiatimet.bsky.social
Sure in Tipp where the candidate died throwing the whole general election into doubt in 2020 people still voted for her.
quiatimet.bsky.social
Jim Gavin got a dose of the Glenroes and now we all have to stay up late on a Sunday evening with the stress of it all

If only it was the covid zoom days and Daniel McConnell could live tweet it
