This is one of the greatest songs EVER written. I remember the first time I heard it. It is so pure to me bc who wouldn't want someone to feel this way about them?

Because ANYONE can be a white supremacist. The most effective part of white supremacy is getting NONwhite people to do the work of spreading hatred and misogyny for you. It means they don't have to go into communities where people are already suspicious.

But this is the version of Christianity that has always permeated white churches in America. Black people have been calling out the hypocrisy of this type of "Christianity" since slavery. It has been THE central obstacle to equality for black people in this country for centuries.
