Rereading 1984. It’s more chilling than I recall as so much of it has become our reality. In writing the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, the founders imagined a tyrant trying to take over the government, but I don’t think they ever imagined Congress would be complicit. 🥺

I keep reading how we shouldn’t be celebrating the Fourth of July because this country sucks. I would like to counter that thought with this: WE need to be loving the USA now more than ever. This is OUR country, dammit. We will not allow our American Dream to end because of this fascist regime. 1/2
