In the Canadian market - grocery store profit, executive compensation, price fixing and hostile takeovers are a big driver of prices. When farmers aren’t being paid more, and profits are sky-rocketing it’s hard to see currency devaluation being the prime driver in our market.

I do that every week here in Canada. It’s especially frustrating as we only have the 2 big chains available to us here. 40 minutes drive away is an independent with lower prices, higher quality fresh produce and meat - but the petrol/emissions cost undermines making the trip each week.

He can’t be taken to The Hague from the US- but if he steps out of the country he can. I hope he wasn’t planning on travelling when he retires.

I hope so. I had great hopes but my confidence has been undermined by a number of actions … not giving up yet though.

Being against environmental collapse caused by fossil fuel reliance is thinking long term. I suspect OP is right about Carney’s play here but the optics are horrible and I don’t think it wins support - the petrolheads aren’t going to change allegiance - but environmentalists will.

The CFIG is not there to benefit consumers … or grocery store employees. It also has an interesting/deceptive name since they seem to be lobbing for the major chains in this case and others

Maybe, but they think everything is about money. Many can’t seem to comprehend that it could be their tolerance of their government’s behaviour towards citizens and others.

Emera sucked NSP dry, deferring maintenance and security upgrades to pay outrageous bonuses that weren’t earned. We can stand by for the taxpayer bailout (but only after one more bonus payout. It seems to be the way of the world these days.

In shipboard damage control, one attacked the major leaks with temporary means until stronger shoring and bracing can be fitted. I want to see long-term plans but I understand the “leak stopping” going on right now.

Nissan and Renault maintain a partnership of sorts (along with Mitsubishi), so there is already a dealership network if they want to get these here. They are already sharing an IC engine.
