followers i haven't followed back yet, there are more of you than i'm used to and i'm a bit overwhelmed (i'm easily overwhelmed). it's not personal and i generally do follow back if we interact, but if i don't do it right away, i tend to forget. i appreciate you all (except the musk impersonators).

no immediate risk is not the same as no risk. if someone were to eat these contaminated foods on a regular basis they could reach a harmful level of exposure, because it all adds up.

tbh the most unsettling thing about living in norway the day before the nobel peace prize is announced, is being constantly reminded exactly how many people have us confused with sweden (IKEA is not our problem) and/or denmark (our last settlement in greenland was abandoned/died out ~600 years ago).

because we're so insignificant internationally! no but really, at the time the peace prize was established, norway was in a union with sweden and the swedes ran the foreign policy. so the idea was that norway would be more impartial.

turns out the mouse has terrible taste! bad news is it did get into my food, good news is it only attacked a couple failed purchases that i wasn't going to eat anyway. i have cleaned up and disinfected and moved all the untouched food to heavy-duty transparent plastic tubs it can't easily get into.

machine translation, but that's also LLM-based so not entirely different tech, and the scope was more limited. but for a while there everybody was doing their own machine translation thing.

btw, does bing translate still exist? and did anyone use it other than people forced by microsoft to use it?

just averted a thing here where a coworker was about to send one of our users a long, chatbot-generated lecture on a topic the user is clearly already familiar with, and i strongly suspect being botsplained would only have made the user angrier.

to my coworker's credit, he then asked for my input.
