We have an almost snuggle! I think Bertie is warming to her foster brother. Or she’s too tired to tell him not to tuck himself in behind her.

Guess who got his first walk on the beach today? You’d never know he had a major surgery a week ago. And, unlike some dogs I know, he did not growl at any children of guests during our dinner party.

Many meetings today that made me cranky and sad. In the middle of one, the dogs pulled all the beds out of the study into the sunbeam in the living room. Crankiness 100% eliminated.

He always wants to play and snuggle closer, but it’s stunning how bad his mouth smells. I can’t wait until we can get the go ahead to see a dentist from the vets looking at his jaw. Good thing he’s so cute.

Beetle agrees. Apparently the bandana is not quite worth the part where they try to chop off your toes. But look how pretty he ended up!

Bertie, who has never turned down food before in her life, has declared a hunger strike because Beetle gets wet food and she doesn’t not. Beetle is happy with any food at all but he gets wet because this is his jaw.

Long day in the car driving to Arlington and back to pick up little Beetle, but not as long as his trip all the way from a shelter in Apple Valley, CA. He’s absolutely as sweet as can be, lovey, playful, and apparently unfazed by his ordeal.

Meet the Beetle! He’s on his way to me from a shelter California to be fostered until he finds his forever home. He’s slightly dented but all reports are that he is super sweet despite what he’s been through.

Finally found someone local to inspect and sweep my chimney (not a euphemism). I’m now enjoying my first fire in the fireplace since moving in! This is f-ing amazing. And free-ish as long as I’m burning the trees that had to be taken down anyway.
