Today I was delighted to table my Bill to tackle the scourge of freight crime that is causing so many difficulties for local freight and logistics companies in North Warwickshire and Bedworth. 🧵1/6

Here’s why Labour members are backing
@bphillipsonmp.bsky.social for Deputy Leader ⬇️

Farage called misogynist influencer Andrew Tate an "important voice for men" and wants to scrap the online safety law that protects children from extreme pornography and women from revenge porn. Reform have no plan to keep people safe online.

Yesterday I completed my 1,500 mile journey from the UK to the Ukrainian border, where we handed over the ambulance and all the supplies generously donated by the British public.

Yesterday I set off in the ambulance from North Warwickshire and Bedworth on my three day trip to deliver aid and supplies to Ukraine. Here's what happened.

From North Warwickshire and Bedworth to Ukraine. 1500 miles. 3 ambulances. Desperately needed supplies.

It was an honour to be asked to drive a retired ambulance full of aid across Europe to the Ukrainian border by local business LKQ Euro Car Parts, as part of their enormous fundraising appeal.

My comment to @itvnews.bsky.social about Reform's 19-year-old council leader in Warwickshire and why I don't believe he has the experience necessary to lead a £600 million council.
racheltaylormp.bsky.social
No plan, no policies, and a council in chaos. Three months in, it's clear Reform are failing Warwickshire.

I wish Cllr Finch well as Leader, but I remain deeply sceptical that he has the experience needed to deliver change for my constituents.
racheltaylormp.bsky.social
I have met Cllr Finch and know him to be a charismatic and ambitious young man, but my constituents need someone with a proven track record to fix our potholed roads, special education services, and social care system.

The fact that even the Conservatives refused to back Reform's choice for leader demonstrates the level of disquiet about this inappropriate appointment.

It's about time someone took Reform to task for what they do, and not just what they say. @bbclaurak.bsky.social

Reform in Warwickshire need Tory backing to vote in their teenage council leader, and we’re now seeing the price for that support - tens of thousands of pounds for political staff. Reform said they’d save taxpayers money. Instead it’s being spent on a big fat bribe.

Reform in Warwickshire urgently need to get a grip so they can start governing effectively in the interest of Warwickshire residents.

While I am sorry to hear about Cllr Rob Howard’s health challenges and wish him and his family well, questions remain about how he came to resign after just six weeks in the job and about the qualifications of his eighteen-year-old replacement.
racheltaylormp.bsky.social
Since the local elections there have been questions about how well this new Reform council is functioning, not helped by the Leader missing the first meeting to take a holiday to the Dominican Republic or telling the local paper his Council didn’t have any specific policies.

Yesterday’s resignation of the Reform leader of Warwickshire Council and his replacement with an 18-year-old will be of real concern to my constituents. We need a functioning council to fill in potholes, deliver care services, and end the SEND crisis.

I want to thank everyone who supported this campaign - especially @jacobcolliermp.bsky.social @marietidball.bsky.social and the 103 other MPs who backed my amendment. I also want to thank the team at the Home Office for listening to why this change was needed. Equality has taken a step forward.

Hate crimes against transgender, gay, and disabled people ruin lives and leave whole communities living in fear. From now on, hate against these groups will be treated as seriously as hate crimes based on race and religion.
