Pulled the trigger on an E-bike. Hoping to use it to commute to work, get some exercise and reduce my dependence on automobiles.

Getting a bike you're gonna commute with is a big to do actually, but it did get me out to the local bike shop for a helmet today! Excited to get on the road.

BK used to trade pretty heavily on being disturbing. They made a whole video game about creeping up on dudes and giving them hamburgers.

Just got this in my e-mail from an official VA.gov address. I know we're well past pointing out the illegality of things, but this also fucking pisses me off. Don't e-mail me this bullshit from a VA address.

As you may be aware, funding for some government agencies, including portions of the Department of Veterans Affairs, expired at midnight this morning.

President Trump opposes a lapse in appropriations, and on September 19, the House of Representatives passed, with the Trump Administration’s support, a clean continuing resolution to fund the government through November 21. HIGHLIGHT(Unfortunately, Democrats are blocking this Continuing Resolution in the U.S. Senate due to unrelated policy demands.)

During the current lapse in funding, the vast majority of VA benefits and services will continue uninterrupted, but the government shutdown is not without consequences to VA. Here is what you need to know:

I've been pretty stunned at how little I've heard from elected Democrats about this. You'd think the President threatening to bring down the military on "inner cities" and Democrat ran cities generally would prompt a stronger response than it seems to have.
