My angry conspiracy theory is that Nintendo made the GamePad (and also Switch joy-con) uncomfortable on purpose in order to encourage everyone to buy Pro Controllers

I was at the E3 where Nintendo unveiled the Wii U (I played it when the controller still used 3DS circle pads!) & looking back it was probably a bad sign that everyone there was just talking about how the controller wasn't *that* uncomfortable & nobody was talking about the actual games for it

It was super fuzzy on the outside and looked perfect for our cold apartment.
