Hey all, time to introduce myself! My name is Raj, I’m originally from NJ, but made my way to the Bay Area via Philly. Best believe I’m a Birds and Flyers fan.

Biotech/pharma geek, huge mental health ally, future oenophile, and pickleball pro in the making 🔥
Non-political question here: has anyone fluctuated between wanting to be in a relationship, but the moment you’re in one, you wanna be single again?? And if so, how does one navigate those waters? Asking for my “twin brown friend” of course 😂

Fun fact, only dictators try to rewrite history. Hitler tried to do this before enacting the Nuremberg Laws and dehumanizing the Jewish populace. Scary times ahead…

As an American citizen, I am absolutely fucking ashamed at how poorly Trump and Vance treated Zelensky during his Oval Office visit 🤦🏽‍♂️

To all my academic colleagues working at the NIH/FDA/CDC, how are things looking with the DOGE cuts?

One of my grad school friends is a health sciences specialist at NIAID, and she informed me that 3 of her staff just got cut.

Let us know if there’s anything we can do to help!

Food for thought: if people really wanted follow through on mass immigrant deportations, fully commit! No more Cinco de Mayo holidays, don’t drink on St Patty’s Day, don’t celebrate Diwali or Halloween either. You’ll soon realize that all the fun US holidays stem from other cultures

As someone who works in big pharma, I find this quite horrifying. By not powering our clinical trials to include diverse populations, efficacy data could be skewed as positive without accounting for genetic variants that impede drug potency
US FDA drops web pages on improving clinical trial diversity
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has pulled draft guidance from its website requiring companies to test medicines and devices in diverse populations as part of a purge of diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at U.S. health agencies.
