Delighted to announce!

After the incredible success of the hardback of my 3rd collection, ‘House Anthems’, the paperback is to be released on June 6th.

June 6th is relevant. It is the birthday of my late beloved brother Joseph, whom the book is really about.

DM if you are interested in a copy x

Absolutely. Gareth came into HMP Leeds a couple of weeks ago to talk to young men and record a podcast with them. it was a super event. I love Gareth, what he stands for and his empathy.

Here’s a poem about him from ‘House Anthems’.

The Northern Gravy Poetry Anthology.

"This anthology is born in flickering light, playing among shadows and dancing with ghosts. Death whispers, birth sings- a dreamscape of endings and beginnings: Luminous, ephemeral, infinite.”

If anyone had told me in 2019 that I would have had 3 collections of poetry published within 6 years, and that they all would be on sale in Waterstones, Blackwells, Foyles and great independent bookshops, well, I would say that you have been eating too much cheese before bedtime.

Thank you all xx.

Love this collection by Maria Ferguson. Full of rage and love. Exquisitely restrained and crafted.

From my second collection, ‘Hidden Music’. Thought of it after I saw ‘A Complete Unknown’ last night.

Breaking news!

Astonishingly, my publisher has managed to locate 10 copies of the beautiful limited edition hardback of ‘Hidden Music’. I nabbed them off him. If you want a signed copy, let me know. They are £22.50 all in. Once they are gone, that’s it. The paperback is out soon though.

From ‘House Anthems’. A poem that means a lot to me.

I remember the exact time and place of the first draft of this poem. It was a cold flat in Bradford on New Year’s Eve. I wasn’t well and a bit lost in myself at the time.

Bad times are usually fleeting and they pass.

Happy New Year everyone xx
