December 8, 1942: The 41th transport left #Westerbork for #Auschwitz. The train carried 927 deportees of which 131 were children. Most of the deportees were send to the gas chambers on arrival and within 6 months all but a few men were murdered. Only two people survived.

December 6, 1938: Von Ribbentrop and Georges Bonnet signed a treaty by which Germany and France guaranteed the inviolability of one another's borders and agreed to engage in mutual consultation to resolve all disputes peacefully. Germany invaded France 10 May 1940.

November 29, 1941: The second mass shooting of the Ninth Fort massacres occurred. A total of 4,934 German Jews, that had been deported without due process, were killed by the Nazis in the two days of shootings in the Ninth Fort near Kaunas, Lithuania.

November 26, 1942: The train that had left #Westerbork on Tuesday arrived at #Auschwitz. 42 women from this transport were admitted into the camp and were tattooed with the serial numbers 25927-25968. All the others, 667, were immediately murdered in the gas chambers.

November 25, 1944: The German SS began dismantling the technical equipment of crematorium II at #Auschwitz II-Birkenau. An air-pump engine from the gas chamber was planned for #Mauthausen and pipes for #Gross-Rosen camps.

November 24, 1942: A transport left #Westerbork for #Auschwitz with 709 prisoners, nobody survived. Moritz Frank and his wife Johanna were on that transport. She was send to the gas chamber on arrival. Moritz died in #Buchenwald a few weeks before it was liberated.

November 23, 1931: Carl von Ossietzky is sentenced to 18 months in prison for "betraying military secrets". He had exposed details of Germany's construction of a secret air force in violation of the Treaty of Versailles. Ossietzky died of tuberculosis in 1938.
