Maine's leading detective for all things Sherlockian.
You started by talking about "hit ratio" then switched to personal preference. The Rings movies are undoubtedly giant popular and critical hits. It's okay to have a difference of opinion. If you don't like them, that's fine. But you can't win an argument by shifting reality to suit your preference.

Priceless to me. Ted is my guy. DC only gave him this one shot at a solo ongoing title. By contrast, Jaime has now fronted four separate volumes. Let’s give Ted another try as the headliner

Just finished my annual viewing 30 mins ago. Love it!

I tried to use the lead actress as a basis of comparison and it definitely seemed like the killer was shorter while wearing a mask than without one. Also seemed less bulky and more wiry in costume

The Most Dangerous Game

It was fun. A little disappointed that the movie didn’t provide viable clues to killer’s identity. Even more annoyed that the masked killer clearly had a different height and build than the unmasked killer. Just gotta accept that detective work wasn’t the point of the movie

When you put it on the plausibility spectrum of Nic Cage movies from Leaving Las Vegas to Face/Off, Con Air probably lands somewhere in the middle

Certainly not going to be Bradley Cooper

Pretty much the standard “new look” costume. The only real difference is that the belt is lined with pouches instead of cylinders. No frills, basic, but rendered well by Miller

Were the Klingons ALL sitcom stars in that movie? Wouldn’t be surprised if the other Birds of Prey were captained by Henry Winkler, Jimmie Walker and Ted Danson

Love the movie. Don’t love that poster. The candy cane colored pole and gift wrapped presents signal that it’s a Christmas movie, which it most certainly is not. It’s explicitly a Thanksgiving movie. Let’s see the right iconography

I guess it depends if you’re concerned with the idea of “canon.” If not, who cares? Then it becomes very simple

And the modern Deadshot is so different from his Golden Age appearance that it’s hard to consider him the same character. Officially the same, yes. But different for all intents and purposes

It’s kinda complex though. Though she appeared in other media, Harley wasn’t introduced to mainline Batman continuity in the comics until 1999. Bane had been part of the comics since 1993.

I worry it would be too similar to the recent Guy Pearce version. The story lost its balance by skewing much too dark. Scrooge was so irredeemable that I did want him to be saved. Not just bad but (ironically) dispiriting

That's the basic plot of The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle, all right. Out of the 56 short stories and 4 novels, I can't recall another case with a gemstone hidden inside a bird. Inside a plaster bust of Napoleon, yes.

As a Sherlock Holmes fan, it reminds me of the odd frequency of Violets scattered among his adventures. There are four of them, distinguished by the surnames Smith (SOLI), Hunter (COPP), Westbury (BRUC) and de Merville (ILLU)

Harvey Dent, Harvey Bullock, Harvey Harris. Does Bruce collect Harveys? I don’t think I ever met one, much less three. Am I missing any others?

They certainly used lots of elements from the story like Starman’s nervous breakdown. But I don’t think the mass deaths of so many Golden Age characters were made official

Barely an Elseworlds. Feels like it could’ve been a canonical story, only for editorial to balk at the bloody ending. Serves as a great finale to the All Star Squadron series. I may actually prefer it over Kingdom Come as the 1990s preeminent statement on superheroes run amok

That mistake happens a lot. Tubi did the same thing with Hound of the Baskervilles. The thumbnail pic is from the 1982 version starring Tom Baker. But when you click it, Tubi plays the 2002 version starring Richard Roxburgh
