been working on this for a bit, on my work breaks. finally getting comfortable with procreate.

keep forgetting to post this little reference for Gem's updated werewolf transformations, finally feel pretty happy with the general look for her other forms

reference of three different types of transformation of Gem's werewolf forms. First at the top being a casual transformation, second being a rushed transformation with torn flesh and random sharp teeth, last being her chimera form which is much more large and monstrous

it is weirdly freeing to just start writing something you've been wanting to do for a long time. just working and editing chapters. eventually i'll start uploading chapters somewhere once i'm satisfied at some point. maybe when wrapping the first arc.

i feel you. it's a journey i think. i had to do a lot of reflection on what felt like it was holding me back with my own work. only now starting to feel like i've been getting my spark back. Wish you fun and peace

for me its been a lot of trying out different things for the past couple of years. i had super bad burnout from coms.
found trying things really outside the usual like testing mediums you haven't tried, techniques or brushes you're not used to, or dif programs helped. just to break the mental limits

if anyone was hoping i've moved on from my current fixation, i regret to inform you that it has instead been concentrated into a high intensity beam. we're at 13,000 words to the fanfic and i am behind my estimated outline, so it will be longer than expected

Contrary to popular belief the biggest beginner's roadblock to art isn't even technical skill it's frustration tolerance, especially in the age of social media. It hurts and the frustration is endless but you must build the frustration tolerance equivalent to a roach's capacity to survive a nuclear explosion. That's how you build on the technical skill. Throw that "won't even start because I'm afraid it won't be perfect" shit out the window. Just do it. Just start. Good luck.

like i've wanted to write something with gem for years, but figuring out the start is the problem, and a world for her to go to outside Limbo. why not a fanfic
the only reason i pushed the idea out sm is it wouldn't be able to be commercialized, but who cares. fiuck it. i just want to tell stories

like i've wanted to figure out something shorter to show with gem for years to give more of an idea of who she is. and i realize i can just write a fanfic because my characters' story has to do with going to different dimensions anyway. the main thing is going to other worlds. fuckin why not

no longer actively pursuing a career making art means everyone has to deal with me realizing i can just fuckin draw or write my oc kissing some character i like and put far too much effort and time into it. truly freeing, highly recommend. i am. weirdly tempted to write fanfic just to do write Gem
