May you be ruthful, gormful and gruntled.
Sounds far right…

You’re not wrong. I’m not saying Labour are less intelligent than other politicians (though 70% failed a basic maths test a few years ago) and I’m sure the parties are as bad as each other in having fallen for the AI lobby. I’m also not suggesting they’re setting themselves up for post-MP employment

That’s the same in the UK. While our courts do generally see the danger, our government has a huge blind spot when it comes to AI.

I should probably have written “power armour that’s white” instead of what I actually wrote, which may attract a more Twitter audience…

Sadly no. One of the justice ministers gave a speech a few weeks ago at a legal event and said they’d launch a consultation on the issue.
I assume, since they think the sun shines out of AI’s backside, that they’ll also remove the right to appeal, because AI can’t be seen as fallible.

If that worries you, you’re going to have a very bad day when you hear Labour’s plan to replace Judges with AI…
(I wish I were kidding.)

I invested a lot of time in the ‘muted words’ list to get a lot of the US politics out of my timeline, and I never ever go on ‘Discover’ for that very reason.
But at least here it’s usually a better take on their politics than in…the other place.

But…that means…you’re doomed to repeat it!

Imagine you had a country where the civil servants were able to say to their political masters “back that up with evidence or we don’t have to follow your ravings”. And a country with employment rights so they couldn’t be fired for doing so.
You need deep reforms if you want rid of rule by diktat.

Is it not simply a retelling of one of the foundation stories of ancient Rome?

(Male) Scientists have proven that we get the lurgy twice as bad as women, and you should tell her that. Go on, it’ll be fine.
