Watched the match – first time of the RWC – courtesy of friends in the US screen sharing with me (because they get it as part of a regular old streaming service instead of the extortion of Sky Sport 🙃).

I realise that most power companies do monthly billing, but in the eight-ish years that I have handled bills and accounts for flats I’ve been in, I’ve been with Flick and it has always been weekly. Just glad I noticed I hadn’t been billed for a while before getting the inevitable horror month bill.

Pretty ridiculous that Flick gets bought by Meridian, and all the messaging is ‘don’t worry, you don’t have to do anything, it’s all sorted’ only to find (through having to email them to clarify) that ‘PSYCH we didn’t think to tell you that we do monthly billing only and that that could impact you’

So I don't have any junior classes this year so I don't have regular library periods. choral/singing thought: I have a chaotic idea of translating (realistically, collaborating on translating) Pōkarekare Ana or another wartime song into Ghari or another Guadalcanal language as like a melding of Aotearoa and Solomons WWII stuff. like… that’s a kind of cool idea right?

Dunedin, by the by, has been warmer than expected and full of closed store fronts. Admittedly I’ve largely only experienced the stretch of Princes St from our hotel to the Octagon, but still.

Choir has been SMASHING it - and one of two pics about the Big Sing in the ODT today was our girls!

What absolute proverbial-for-brains decided that Big Sing Finale and Tournament Week should both be held this week, a key time of year for senior students and one that is also ripe with winter illness??

Feel bad that I’m part of the pressure on our relief needs with helping supervise at Finale.

Just finished the last vahega of my 10-week Vagahau Niue class with CPL and it's been so lovely having a bit of that beautiful corner of the Pacific every week. And now I've got a bit of Niuean under my belt for whenever I finally head over there after a lifetime of stories.
