they're going to ban all social media. it's probably for the best
Too real. We’re going to try to fix this. Social media doesn’t have to be this way.

there's a disconnect here re: the average person using IG or TikTok, and how truly attached they are to these slop videos

"Likes" in old social media used to actually mean something but not anymore. The average person is scrolling their feed liking *anything* that they don't actively *dislike*
This is doing numbers on social media right now and it's so depressing how people truly yearn for this shit and want to preserve that feeling indefinitely like a mausoleum of false memories.

iOS 26 installed, first time using it, successfully ignored betas this year

i love it! everything is so bouncy! reminds me of iOS 7 in spirit (and didn't those animations get toned down over the years?)

with the Apple event coming up, i have a new rule: the next iPhone Pro cannot be heavier than the 16 Pro

i had to move some items around in storage and played with my old 6S for a bit. i miss my phone being that light and thin

Twitter isn't as bad as Bluesky makes it seem. Bluesky isn't as bad as Twitter makes it seem. Really just depends whether you prefer your death threats from racists or communists.

i don't understand why Gruber acts like this

Checking in on this. Despite all the hype and actual improvements, LLMs still seem to be stuck here. In the space where they can only assist and maybe save a lot of typing.
ChatGPT coding is right on the edge of being amazing. It will save me hours of research and googling for something in which I lack expertise, but if I ask it to do something I’m familiar with then I will likely spend more time correcting it than being productive

very funny how this is exactly the same thing as mastodon but people are willing to use it because you don't have to read from the book of the dead to make an account

wow, haven’t thought about this account since I blocked them on Twitter in 2016. Feeling a little kick of nostalgia as I mute them here 😌

The bluesky iOS app feels pretty good, but I’m not a fan of the hiding tab bar on scroll

Spent hours trying to get ChatGPT 4 to help me with a SwiftUI thing and lost hope, wrote it myself.

A few weeks later I was able to guide it through most of the tedious work of a complex bash script, asking it to correct errors and fill in gaps, and i felt like I caught a glimpse of heaven
