Like most things in my life, this has been a huge mistake
If interest rates are low I’d take it as a no brainer. Right now it’s a tough sell tho, unless it’s a great price and you’re betting you can refinance it at a lower rate before you go insolvent.

I use it pretty often, and have occasionally gotten some wild substitutions.

I also recognize the privilege involved so I never complain to the underpayed worker. I just learn how to live with my onion eyes.

Yeah, thank you. Maybe you’re seeing different replies than I am, but as someone who has experience in military requirements everyone replying with disagreements seems to have good reasons, and none of which ignore that pretty banal truism.

I mean fair.

I hope Bill Kristol is doing the same.

In the 90s we hadn’t even had a whole decade of that yet. When the war on terror was launched, arguably we had only known that feeling for 12 or 13 years.

Hubris is a heady drink, and not every one drank from it. I’ve had to deal with that fact when I look at my own beliefs from that era.

Nah everyone I see seems to get why Pete is not actually right about this

Something the ‘war fighter’ ghouls will never understand is how these ethics are also a linchpin to our mission effectiveness. We never seem to learn this lesson when it really counts.

“Perfection is the enemy of the good” and that’s already baked into the procurements process. This is literally the kind of thing that’s on the first slide of the GSA training.

Deep cut

This sounds to me like something very smart he heard when he was a guard lieutenant and only like half remembered.

It was, in a very real sense, one of the things that hastened the defeat of the third reich: the fast tracking of someone’s dumbass death machine instead of making what they really needed: a decent tank suspension

The thing about working in requirements is that for every essential capability delayed by the Byzantine acquisitions process at least a hundred bullshit half-baked death traps never see the light of day.

I mean: how many residents of NY make less than 50k these days? I was told by marxists that even six figures isn’t enough to make ends meet.

Yeah, I think it had more to do with understanding the importance of lying when it comes to marketing
November 7, 2025 at 11:26 PM
Wildly a lesson it looked like he understood during the 2016 primary.

I mean, I'm only vaguely aware of who she is, but having seen her picture a few times I'm not super attracted to her.

But, like, I also haven't made that my personality for some strange reason.
