Yes, it's true that it's important to talk to people who have different beliefs than me. It's also true that I don't have to talk to someone who thinks the reality of my existence makes me an abomination. Politics has become so polarized that it too often hits that line.

It's also quite telling that the lefties who retweeted my comments on Bari Weiss to mock them didn't share the facts I posted about the famines in Sudan and Afghanistan.

Lefties are being jerks about this, but this is actually a core principle of responsible journalism. If Weiss compromises her own stated principles, she can be held accountable for that more effectively than the mere fact of her having right wing views.

I know I get canceled for believing that fixating on a single global conflict "because we can do something about it" while ignoring others is wrong. But strangely, that social punishment didn't change my mind. Unless you holistically understand global trends, you can't truly understand that one war.
