It's touching, in a twisted way, seeing how Yuuji breaks down over his empty grave once no one else is around. The rawness of it, the honesty, almost tempts Sukuna to come out of the shadows. But that would ruin the fun much too early.

He does it both because he wants to hurt Yuuji, maybe for petty revenge for something or another or maybe just pure sadistic enjoyment, and the rush he gets seeing what a mess Yuuji is without him, his grief over his shitty brother undeniable proof of his love for Sukuna

The last comfort Sukuna felt was the warmth of Yuuji's hands shielding him from the cold winter air oh I'm SICK 😭😭😭😭

And Yuuji really does strike a beautiful balance between comparison and ferocity, without his fierceness in battle he cannot defend his ideals, but without his compassion his ideals become meaningless.

Exactly!!!! Without knowing that Yuuji will not break, Sukuna can write off Yuuji's compassion as a cowardly attempt to end a fight he can't win, but Yuuji makes that impossible and forces him to face the uncomfortable truth, which is something Yuuji does consistent much to Sukuna’s displeasure

Yuuji has shown Sukuna time and time again that he cannot be forced to bow down even by people much stronger then him, only to choose to lower himself in a strikingly vulnerable position to save him
