Part of why this stuff keeps getting underreported is that our media class can’t get it through their thick heads that this is not a weightless debate over political ideology, but a declaration of war on over 100 million Americans, which DHS is announcing an intent to eliminate

This is the first Thanksgiving for Sophie & Colin Hortman without their parents, Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and Mark Hortman who were assassinated along with the family dog in an act of political murder. National guards troops were not deployed to the state in response.

Exactly.
It hits different when they're arresting white women. They signed up to terrorize Black and brown people.

Word. Remember how he was all about who would perform at his first inauguration? Him popping up in HOME ALONE 2? Hell, Someone else noted he has no real core values (and is a New Yorker), so of course he responded positively to Mamdani.

I find it fascinating that it passed the sniff test in business, but I think it also helps reinforce the idea that you don't have to "train" or learn how things work. No concrete answers are ever needed, and "trust me, bro" is the only contract you'll ever need. Just keep using the thing.
Someone is going to have the write the thing about how “vibe” has become a substitute for meaningful theory in a world where the theory is so clear — grift and power — but we collectively refuse if because it isn’t sophisticated enough to generate make work for empiricists.

Unless she's making private apologies to folks whose lives she actively made worse (cough...Dr. Fauci...and others), I see herself as trying to become the U.S.A's Marie Le Pen.
A lot of the people lamenting Marjorie Taylor Greene’s departure from Congress—and celebrating her as some kind of principled maverick—are going to end up eating their words when she reemerges in 2028 to help lead a pro-groper, pro-Fuentes “America First” faction of the GOP.

my library's policy.

Librarians like to say that book bans interfere with parents' direction of their children's reading. But also, by letting minors be patrons, librarians do not collude with parents' control over their children's reading.

The freedom to read is radically democratic. 📚

How is nurse practitioner no longer professional? I have always gone to the medical center in my community and my primary care person has always been a nurse practitioner!! I’ve rarely gotten a doctor because that is scarce in tribal communities, but my NP has always done amazing work.
Nursing leaders voice concern over proposed changes to student federal student loan provisions
Leaders of nursing organizations believe the changes will make it harder for nurses to afford graduate school, leading to fewer nurses pursuing the profession.

The Department of Education is proposing a definition that could strip nurse practitioners and CRNAs of “professional degree” status.

Chiropractors keep it. Nurses risk losing it. And that change would fall hardest on women in healthcare.

This is political and it is sexist.

People like Sydette.
Nuzzi may be a joke or punchline , but she got into position by being constantly excused for being an abusive manipulative ass.

And falling back to the same schtick of being “seduced “ by men and”jealous es” by women

Whew! Ashley's whole thread. People need to stop entertaining the Margaret Thatcher framing of "there is no other alternative," which is only a subset of Ashley's larger point here.
Y’all need to learn how to 'yes AND'. There’s a lot of rejecting or dismissing facts because the framing is incorrect/immoral/trite, etc. but that’s doesn’t change the FACT. You can still use and share the FACT while altering or arguing against the framing in which said information was shared.
