That’s wonderful to hear you’re moving here! Welcome (almost) to New Mexico! I’m glad you’ve now learned of IAIA— I think you’ll love our arts culture here.

Today I visited @IAIASantaFe in my district and it’s such a jewel. From studio arts to creative writing to museum studies, students are learning to create in ways that both honor tradition and push boundaries. Honored to witness the work happening in this incredible space. 🎨🖌️🖼️

Violence has no place in American political dialogue. I’m shocked to hear about the shooting of Charlie Kirk today, and I’m keeping him and all those impacted in my thoughts.

Trump sold out working people, cutting their healthcare and raising costs to pay for tax giveaways to the wealthiest Americans. We will not sit back and let cruel federal policy rob our neighbors of their healthcare and food security. www.governor.state.nm.us/2025/09/04/g...

This guy is in one of the worst prisons in the world with no way out and may spend the rest of his life there because, it appears, he has an autism awareness tattoo in honor of his little brother.

Wildfires, drought, extreme heat – New Mexicans have seen the cost of climate change in our communities. Tonight, we passed the Community Benefit Fund on the House Floor. This major investment package makes sure we aren’t just reacting, but building more resilient communities.

We just passed HB586 in the House to create oversight of hospital mergers. NM is a top target for private equity—we must ensure these deals don’t hurt patient care or healthcare workers. Last year, we set up temporary oversight—now we’re fighting to make it permanent. tinyurl.com/2rkav4nc
Concerns about private equity ownership drove state's hospital oversight bill
A failed hospital merger led to a law giving the state final word over all hospital mergers and acquisitions.

First responders deal with PTSD, chronic pain, and high rates of cancer. But for more than 15 years, they have been barred from using medical cannabis to treat symptoms. We’re on the way to changing that with HB230 passing the House Floor tonight.

After three hours of debate, House Bill 9 passed on a 35-25 mostly party-line vote and now heads to the Senate. The Immigration Safety Act, as it's called, would ban public entities such as local governments from entering into contracts to detain people for civil immigration violations.

With Medicaid Forward, you & your family’s health care costs would never be more than 5% of your income, and lower wage workers wouldn’t have to worry about being kicked off their plans when they start making a few dollars more. This optional plan would be a huge improvement for many.
New Mexico lawmakers look to expand Medicaid access
Some state lawmakers know there's a lot of New Mexicans who just can't find coverage that fits in their budget, so they want the state to help out.

In New Mexico, we care about our families.

The Welcome Child and Family Wellness Leave Act passed on the House Floor yesterday, protecting your job and income while you care for your child and loved ones. Thank you to our champions for their years of work to make us a stronger state.

It was great to see Santa Fe’s youngest soccer stars in the building! Our city’s youth need the room to stretch their legs, and play their hardest. Let’s finish the fields for our young athletes in supporting the Northern NM MRC Youth Soccer Expansion.
