Cathy and Bsma describe how the government’s dehumanising plans for asylum make them feel. Families wait years, contribute locally, yet aren’t treated as human. These distractions won’t stop fatal Channel crossings. Choose dignity, fairness and belonging. Share their voices today.

Great night at The Conduit Club bringing together companies, unions and charities to discuss why lifting the work ban for people seeking asylum benefits everyone. Thanks to our hosts and panel.

Do deterrence policies stop people from fleeing? The Rwanda policy, Bibby Stockholm, ban on work and countless others show they do not. People leave because they have no choice.

Our statement on the government’s abhorrent plans for people seeking safety.

Politicians are dividing communities, when they could be building affordable homes and strengthening them.

Leaving the ECHR would not fix the asylum backlog or stop dangerous Channel crossings. We've joined nearly 300 organisations, with the Save Our Human Rights Act (HRA) Coalition to defend the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).🤝

Hey Keir Starmer, get the memo?

We’ve delivered thousands of messages to Number 10 from our supporters, with the help of some digi-vans!

People are fed up with politicians choosing failed policies and scapegoating over investing in all communities. Time for real change.

In reality? We got a barrage of harmful rhetoric about people seeking safety, cruel policies about tearing families apart and discriminatory plans to make people "earn" safety.

Today feels like a good day to remember that most of us believe in welcome 💜
Here are some of the thousands of messages we've received from supporters recently. We'll be delivering them to Number 10, because it seems the government needs this reminder too.

People like you know that families fleeing war and persecution aren’t to blame for the cost-of-living crisis or overstretched services.

Will you tell the government you welcome refugees? Send your message using our tool:

So many powerful and common sense arguments were made in support or lifting the ban. At the next stage of the bill, we need Lords to vote for working rights.

Together, we’re keeping this issue firmly on the agenda. ✊

Yesterday, Members of the House of Lords stood up for the right to work, thanks to the thousands of you who emailed them using our tool!

Amidst a summer of racism and hatred from the far-right, we’ve been overwhelmed by the support of incredible people like you. People calling for unity.

Join our community of people that believe in better - take on a personal challenge that makes a change this September in the Race for Refugees.

Vital conversations about violence against women and girls (VAWG) are being hijacked by a racist, anti-migrant agenda.

We've joined 200 organisations to urge the Government to address this dangerous weaponisation.

A water tank at an informal living site for people on the move in Calais, provided by volunteers from the Calais Food Collective - the French state refuses to provide any support at such sites as part of its “zero points of attachment” policy.

📢Dispatches from Calais today:
As the UK government begins detaining people under its “one in, one out” policy, our Racial Justice researchers are on the ground, speaking with people who could be subject to this inhumane policy next.

What we’re witnessing is fear, uncertainty and cruelty.

This morning, Home Office Minister Angela Eagle had the opportunity to promote inclusive communities and speak out against the racism happening outside asylum accommodation.
August 4, 2025 at 2:31 PM
Our thoughts are with the people seeking safety, including children, who have been targeted with racist harassment, threats and violence outside the buildings in which they have been forced to live.

But it doesn't have to be like this. The asylum housing crisis is a symptom of the national housing crisis.

Join us and call for an investment in social homes, so all people in our communities have a safe roof over their heads.
July 16, 2025 at 8:33 AM
Companies such as Clearsprings, Mears and Serco have lucrative contracts with the Home Office. They're profiting from asylum while placing people in harmful housing. It’s making people sick.

Families face overcrowding, malnutrition, mould, intrusive room searches and attacks by racist groups.
July 16, 2025 at 8:33 AM
It’s time to invest in communities and social homes, not private pockets.

The government is handing money to companies that make huge profits from housing people seeking safety in appalling conditions.

But this could be used to fund a joined-up, local approach to housing people seeking safety.

This video was written by Catherine Lebadou, who has experienced the UK's hostile asylum system. She said: "It was strangers who helped me find my footing. The woman who pointed me in the right direction when I couldn't read the signs. Strangers had been my guides, my bridges, my first welcome."
July 11, 2025 at 9:28 AM
Instead, Keir Starmer wants to discuss spending millions in UK taxpayer money on more border violence and other failed, dangerous “deterrents”.
July 8, 2025 at 4:07 PM
The government's annual report card is in...

And they won’t be top of the class this year.

❌Work ban still in place
🤞Promising changes in asylum housing
🟡Rwanda scrapped, but hostile policies remain
❌Same scapegoating tactics

One good mark doesn’t fix a failing report.

↻ Repost if you agree.
