We review the Puritan horror folktale to show why family tension, religious debates, and a very unruly goat make this a perfect Thanksgiving film! Plus, we discuss the harshest insult a man can get! 🪓

This clip from our new episode on Tron: Legacy, features Jae and Cheryl from @vaguelynerdypod.bsky.social perfectly describing the biggest "cause of death" most of us had for this film: the not quite ready for prime-time CGI used to create the de-aged Jeff Bridges. 😬

One of the coolest things in Ang Lee’s Hulk is seeing Hulk leap across huge distances!

Fun fact: that’s exactly how Superman originally traveled too. He only later leveled up to full flight. Hulk, on the other hand, never got that upgrade. 😔

I wish more people made favorite lists instead of arguing about what’s “objectively best.” Most film debates are just about personal taste.

🍕 It’s like pizza toppings: “best” vs. “favorite” are two very different questions.

🧪 Movie Science
🎬 The Amazing Spider-Man
🔍 Could Peter really stick to walls?

Spiders grip with millions of tiny hairs (setae) on their feet, using molecular forces to hold on. For a human to scale walls this way, Peter would need sticky pads covering a lot of his body.

🎬 Godzilla (2014)
🔍 Could something this big even stand?

At ~350 ft tall, Godzilla (who keeps getting bigger on screen) would weigh hundreds of thousands of tons. Real bones would shatter under that load. Maybe his are made of unobtanium 😉.
