The fact that, contrary to being core to anyone's beliefs, progressive and LGBTQ Christians exist and in large, influential numbers should be the end of the conversation.
Why does what other people claim to “sincerely believe” matter to my rights and liberties??

Homelessness in the U.S. is far more pervasive than the official figures suggest: roughly four million people are without housing right now.

Many are part of the low-wage labor force, powering the very economy that has abandoned them.

I spoke with PBS News about this devastating reality (Part 1):

law professor seeing a grad student be targeted by a hate movement to try to get her fired: it's her fault for not writing a tighter essay prompt
This won’t be a popular opinion, but I don’t think the instructor was right here. The assignment said that the goal was for students to demonstrate they completed the readings *and* they could do so by reflecting on, among other things, their personal experiences. www.oudaily.com/news/ou-stat...

Of course it's a poli sci person who speaks up for the quality of what should be a substandard paper and who thinks it's actually the openly bigoted student and not the instructor being deliberately targeted who is the victim.

They lie. It's the most important fact about the Trump administration. All politicians lie, but with these guys lying is their first instinct and go-to strategy in every event -- probably because everything they're about (like this whole "saving America from immigrants" bullshit) is a fraud.

I was worried my kids would rely on AI as a shortcut but they hate it. They use "AI" to mean stupid or cheap ("aimbot" means good). I tried to say AI is helpful for some things and my daughter said "yeah, for making you stupid." This is how they talked about Drake after "Not Like Us" came out

reading a bunch of pro-AI replies to her other posts has been really enlightening in that not fucking one of those people knows what any of the objections *are* and keep coming up with some psychological theory why people irrationally hate a shitty thing that makes their loves and the world worse

I listened to a biography of FDR recently and the throughline of his first 2 terms is that he was boldly against monied interests in word and deed and the American people fucking loved him to death for it*

*kept reelecting him until he literally died in office

I feel comfortable and secure in my belief that democratic leadership should not be pulling their slogans from venture capitalists. That this, at minimum, is a significant indictment of who they are listening and talking to. It’s not that complicated.

In my official capacity as a degreed historian, I declare that the scene from DEATH BY LIGHTNING where a drunken Chester A. Arthur grabs two cops' bowler hats and wears them on top of each other at the same time is based on historical fact.

This is disgusting.

Ronald Reagan refused to acknowledge the AIDS crisis. Even refused to help his "friend from the Hollywood days" Rock Hudson.

George W. Bush waited 7 years to recognize World AIDS Day.

And now we are back to a POS GOP POTUS who will ignore it.
