I wanted to learn #Blender and needed to design a new #chicken #coop, so I used Blender as my design tool. I used 3D Studio Max during my career, but I must say, Blender is very good 3D software, especially for software that is available to download and use for free. #art 🎨

🌱 It's difficult to see the good right now. People disappoint, but nature blesses us with beauty. This is Calendula, aka Pot Marigold. It is easy to seed. I don't even "plant" it - I pull the seed heads and sprinkle the seeds wherever I want the plants to naturalize. #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b

Happy Halloween! It's cold and wet here in the PNW. More than an inch of rain on this #Halloween evening isn't dampening spirits. We still have a lot of happy children out on the prowl for sweet treats and toys.

🌱 A few weeks back, a neighbor asked why I leave the roses to fade on my rose bushes. This is why. Beautiful Autumn and Winter color. Not all roses develop rose hips, but many do. #garden #Zone8b #bloomscrolling

🌱 'Lady of Shallot' making a showing again. She's my favorite rose, and she's still covered in blooms. The flowers are beginning to fade. Soon I will start the process of defoliating all of my roses to help prevent black spot through the rainy season. #blookscrolling #garden #Zone8b

A white bloom of an 'Iceberg' floribunda rose bush. This rose has medium-to-dark green leaves. The leaves are not as glossy as many rose leaves are. This rose flowers throughout Spring and Summer and is still blooming prolifically on September 21, 2025.

Nearing the end of blooms on my 'Peace' roses for 2025. The center petals are yellow. As the rose opens up, the petals fade to cream with pink edges. The leaves of the 'Peace' rose are deep green. This particular rose is planted next to a cement walkway.

📚 I bought 'Facing the Fracture' by Tania Israel, PhD a month ago. Despite good intentions, news cycles kept derailing me, and found myself not wanting to learn to how to deal with extremist personalities. It may be time I take a break from news, stay off social, and power through this #book.

🎨 When we visited the Shultz museum, we learned they were able to remove house paint to reveal a mural that Schultz had painted. During the pandemic, we painted out my murals so that the kids wouldn't be embarrassed when they were on camera. Could the paint be stripped? #Disney #fan #art

🌱 Visiting the 'Charles M. Schultz Museum' and 'The Walt Disney Family Museum' made this former animator's heart happy. The Snoopy topiary in front of the Schultz museum was adorable. It would be fun to grow a topiary in my own #garden, but wouldn't know where to begin (beyond growing the shrub).

We lost approximately 3 hours of our #vacation time trying to board various San Francisco trolleys, but only managed to get on one. It was daylight when we got in this line, and dark when we finally boarded one. We decided regular transit was the way to travel after that. #SanFrancisco #Trolley

🌱 A holiday isn't complete without a visit to one or more gardens (we visited 2). The Japanese Tea #Garden in San Francisco is so well designed that we could take photos without the crowd appearing in them.
