Husband and I are on a Covered California plan. We’ve been informed our premiums will go from $550 a month to $1600 a month starting Jan 1, and that’s before rate hikes.

Perhaps. My experience has been tips are shared with buskers, food runners, and sometimes host staff. Never with cooks.

In CA, servers make minimum wage plus tips. The cook may be paid a higher hourly wage, but likely a much lower take home amount. Now we’re saying the server gets a tax break that the cook can’t take advantage of? It just seems unfair.
