AI has exposed how much of our work is driven by trends, not by real user needs.

This isn’t a race between humans and machines — it’s a redefinition of value.

The professionals who stand out now aren’t just the ones who do things fast — they’re the ones who know what’s worth doing.

The silver lining is in the new generation. My 12 year old loves old school stuff and wants almost nothing to do with auto generated. They will clash with corporations about "productivity", even more so than ours.

For now, the "all-you-can-eat" model is a better fit for the chaos of coding.

Cursor's vision is the future, but its pricing model feels like the past.

The solution was simple: go back to basics.

For $10/month, GitHub Copilot in VS Code gives me 95% of the power with ZERO friction. No credit-counting. No anxiety. Just unlimited access to a world-class model for a flat fee.

The core problem: Development is not linear. You can't budget your "hard questions."

I found myself avoiding the best models to save credits. This is a productivity anti-pattern. You're paying for a premium tool just to be afraid to use it.

The "honeymoon phase" with Cursor is amazing. An editor built for AI from the ground up feels like the future.

But then you hit the wall: the credit system for pro-tier models (GPT-4o, Claude 3 Opus).
