Well, no, actually. It's way more than that. Even if an item is made in the US, the equipment, raw materials, packaging, power, and fuel to distribute is all going up. Lumber for new construction is another huge one. This touches everything.

1)Trade deficit is not money owed nor necessarily bad

2)Of the 36T we do owe, ~7T is held by foreign govts, many of whom are (were) allies

3) CAN programs get just ~7M in grants/yr. They also issue grants to US

4) MEX crossings ~2M, CAN ~19K

The problem there is anyone who would be put in charge of an investigation sure as shit isn't going to put any responsibility on him. If anything, they'll be directed to do the opposite. There are no more independent agencies as of a week and a half ago.
