The spinning peeler thing is very cool. If you have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer you can get one that screws into that and the mixer does the spinning for you. Very useful tool! (I love cooking and baking with apples.)

Favorite thanksgiving tradition: The first time I had Thanksgiving with my now-wife and her family, her then-13-year-old brother jokingly suggested we do the wave at the end of the meal. Which we did that day and for the ~30 following Thanksgivings.

Maybe when Retrosheet “finishes” the major leagues (in a decade or so), we’ll move on to the PCL. A quick newspaper search for Statz in June 1929 pulled up play-by-play accounts in the Los Angeles Evening Express and the San Francisco Bulletin. No idea how many of those there are.
