And this causes children to be perceived as failures (either by themselves, their parents and/or society at large) when they are not successful according to the logic of capital. It's one of many ways capitalism has commodified our relationships

The idea that the EU is somehow a "nice" form of western hegemony compared to the imperialist US is one that is very popular among european liberals. But reality shows that it is just as imperialist and exploitative in its nature as the US is.

Living with your parents and grandparents (and more communal ways of living together in general) has been such a common thing across many different cultures until global capitalism has slowly eroded this tradition more and more all over the world

Reminder that the current mass deportations are not unique to the Trump administration. The Obama administration was infamous for its rapid mass deportations.
The Democrats always have been just as complicit as the Republicans in the domestic and foreign evils of US empire.
