It is funny to me that the way I found out about the AWS outage is that I wrote code all weekend & was deploying it. The final step was to invalidate the file in Cloudfront so that it will serve the new JS and hahaha nope, can’t log into AWS.

Hey folks -- if you can delay flying at least until after the shut down ends, I think it would be a good idea.
Air Traffic controllers are starting to call in sick, and there are flight delays due to a lack of controllers in the towers in a dozen airports already.

today I discovered that a great way to get someone to come to the hostess stand at a restaurant that you’ve been waiting at for way too long is to call the restaurant. that will make the phone that is 1 foot away from you start ringing and magically someone will show up
