Not really. Consumer strike one day a week doesn't affect quarterly revenue (because you're just delaying a purchase to another day) so larger companies wouldn't notice/care

Not dying, but the growth rate has slowed significantly and daily interactions have been going down steadily for months. Probably missed the bus already on ever becoming a mainstream site.

What makes you sure they're post hoc rationalization? They're pretty simple beliefs (I don't like people stealing; I don't like competing for resources) which have been present in every society in every country up until now. What makes this society so special that those beliefs are suddenly fake?

- large numbers of immigrants tend to depress wages, i would like less immigrants so my wages are higher
- crime is up and I don't like my stuff being stolen, i will vote for someone who wants tougher policing
