Home of Bitkin, the City of Elseways, Tessera, and whatever else the Wandering Mind sees fit to turn its energy to. Current project: a series of assorted small things
Brillig lounges casually on the deck of the Silver Lining. This is mostly just another sketch to test out some coloring techniques, but also to get comfortable drawing him in other poses.
He's got mixed emotions, too, about how the voyage to find Nada's home went. The ship's his now, but now what?

Captain Brillig J. Bandersnatch in color. I didn't realize how corvid he'd look until this was nearly done, but I think that works well given who he is.

A hydra in dressed in a whack-a-mole-game costume (with an appropriately harmless but squeaky hammer).

Neena is known for experiments like this, but I haven't drawn her engaging in them lately. There's a chance they'll both stay this way.
Marked "suggestive" only because Neena is shirtless, but there's nothing there she's actually hiding. She's reptilian enough to be entirely flat-chested.

Worked out a rough (and incomplete) deck plan for the Silver Lining. It’s based on a real-life science/cruise ship, although that one doesn’t have the fins or the ability to fly.

The mission to find Nada’s home world was technically a success, but its inhabitants don’t recognize him. Whatever it is he became, it’s something they’ve never seen before in the celestial void they inhabit.

Nada Number's true form, beneath the ink coating. He never reveals himself like this because it feels vulnerable; it's how he was when he was forced through the experiments that defined his early life. If he's going to meet his true family, though, this is what they'd want to see.

I got my music-writing gear set up again and thought I'd record a short thing to test it out.

Went back to sleep (I have today off) and had some much nicer #dreams. Like a game where you could chop down trees to gather wood, then assemble furniture out of it and sell it, and that was how you started off earning money. Like Minecraft meets Tears of the Kingdom meets Animal Crossing.

#Dream log:
A parallel dimension where everything was different in ways designed to cause pain, e.g. all working drugs replaced with placebos. A world where every possible cynical attitude was correct, and kindness and empathy and trust really didn't exist. Anywhere, for anyone.

I've always thought of attention as something that needs to be earned and freely given, not demanded or taken by force.

I'm starting to think this might be wrong.

My stock answer is usually "Birdhouse in your Soul", but lately "Man, It's So Loud In Here" has been taking over that top spot because of the narrative I built around it for myself.
Name your fav They Might Be Giants song.

Down in the chart room, Farran has good and bad news for the captain. Good: He and Xana have found a route to the colorful spacelike world Nada and Vivid hail from. Bad: it's through a portal, the other end of which is in the hazardous and unstable part of the cosmos known as the Froth.

Clover encounters a strange monk like individual in the pit, named Shade.

He says he's on a pilgrimage to the bottom, though Lucky notes he's seemingly blind and lacks almost any augmentation, which begs the question of how he plans on surviving the journey down. (Let alone how even got this far.)

TVTropes calls the setting of Wander over Yonder "Space Opera". This feels wrong, especially for its first season, and this is a newly relevant question to me now. The Kirby games kind of share the setting ("Loosely-defined cartoon space"), but don't get the "Space Opera" label. So what are they?

Spike Tops, those enemies in many of the Mario games with a single big spike coming out the top of their domed red shell, have six legs in Super Mario World but only four everywhere else. And even then, it's just in their sprites and not their official artwork.
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?
