The part I hate most is when they decide to have the bark delay by some time as a "oh if the player doesn't notice it, THEN we'll give them a hint", then when I play I enter the room and am like "oh what a cool room, I will explore and enjoy the ambiance a minute" and I exceed the timer and it Barks
If you're making a game for the players who absolutely need extremely high-frequency nagging barks from an NPC, you're kind of making a game for no one *but* those players

what people are reacting to is that on here you make a peep and get banned for it whereas on the former Twitter guys just post Auschwitz photos like "This is what must happen. This is what we must do, brothers." and everyone is supposed to be cool that Nazis get that and you get permanent NetNanny.

Once it was clear what the post was and that it was a 3-day ban a lot of my anger dissipated but still:
1) they refused as a point of principle to explain what was going on before backing down
2) interval between post and ban was a month
3) they got this basic info wrong in their explanation

everyone gets so mad at the mods here for doing basic mod shit. sometimes you gotta make a little murder joke and eat a three day ban for it. that’s life baby, there’s beauty in that.

turns out the way a ton of people use the word genius is to describe “a white guy with a fancy job who uses the occasional SAT vocabulary word and claims to be good at math”

Years ago, I would come across high profile folk calling Summers a genius so I checked out some of his work, read some articles and thought, “I don’t get it. Maybe he’s a genius behind closed doors type thing?” Now it’s looking like there was nothing there for me to “get”.
