Giving The Terror a rewatch and what a wonderful miniseries it is.

This would have made for a fantastic episode of Trouble at the Top.

Stranger Things - pretty fatal flaw to put a full stop on the momentum from the end of season 4 and essentially choose to do a reset. There is not enough time spent in this new world, and then it feels like everyone is just spinning plates till the finale.

Can we give him the Director General gig?
This BBC kids tv advert from 1998 is still very impressive and very lovely

Enjoyable evening at the theatre watching Inside No 9 - those chaps are very talented (a hot take, I know).

Battle Engine Aqulia. Barely anyone has heard of it, but it was so much fun.
I would like to know! 🤓👾

Finished season 3 of Strange New Worlds and it has some of the same problems as the recent seasons of Doctor Who. Too few episodes, incredibly uneven but with gold in there.

I really enjoyed the Kirk episode where he is Captain, but it is all about why he needs Bones who isn't there.

Watching the recent 4K release of Outland this evening. One of those movies where the plot doesn't quite hang as well as you'd hope, but the world building is so interesting that you let a lot of it slide.

It also features one of Sean Connery's best performances.

Watching the new series of Strange New Worlds, and I really wish this was being made in the days of 22 episode seasons.

The only thing more stressful than watching the game was reading all the comments on here.

Wild to think the last time this happened I was only a year into secondary school.

Can't believe the musical that has a weak second half has been adapted into a film with a weak second half.

I know Disney live action remakes are redundant exercises, but I feel like this Moana film reaches new depths of pointlessness - it looks like the animated films with some people digitally inserted youtu.be/QKYFfYLe5rs?...

Feels like we should have had our first rubbish Winter Wonderland news story by now.

My hot take is there needs to be far less (if any) pre Budget briefing going on. Having months of speculation swimming about and upsetting people, even when half of it never happens, feels counterproductive.

OK, but when are we getting For All Mankind season 5 news Apple TV?
#Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 will premiere February 27 on Apple TV.

The new James Bond production team, finally getting around to watching No Time To Die this week.
November 11, 2025 at 5:27 PM
I continue to really enjoy how EON cashed out of Bond with only a decade left before the copyright expired and also made sure to kill him off in their films.

Amazon will get...what, three films out of this deal at best before everyone will be allowed to make a Bond film/TV show.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Personally, I wasn't a fan of The Reality War, but this seems like an overreaction from the BBC.

Running Man - first two-thirds really entertaining, but it all kind of falls apart at the end.

Another bit I appreciated - they didn't really go down the "noble warriors with a code" route that a lot of extended media have around Predators. They have rules for sure but continue to be massive cheaters in fights when using cloaks etc.
Predator: Funlands more like. A mix of goofy "find the family you want not the one you have" messages combined with perhaps the most violent 12A I've ever seen.

You could almost see the action figures and playsets this would have if it came out in the 80s.

Old enough to remember being incredibly surprised to discover that Vice City was coming out so quickly after GTA 3.

Very sad news. Peter Watkins was one of our very best directors - Culloden, War Game, Punishment Park, Edvard Munch, La Commune...the list goes on. www.bfi.org.uk/features/pet...
Peter Watkins obituary: radical British filmmaker behind The War Game and Punishment Park
The maverick filmmaker and pioneer of the docudrama, whose anti-establishment works redefined political cinema and challenged the very language of mass media, has died aged 90.
