Do you think that would also be the case here?
Weekly symptoms of infection doesn't sound particularly appealing to me.

I've been comparing annual publication trends across different viruses

The vast difference in the number of publications for SARS-CoV-2 compared to other viruses like Ebola, Dengue, and Influenza A is striking.

I get the negative reactions—I was initially repelled by names like Lentivirus humimdef1. But to my surprise, I came around quite quickly putting it into practice.

HMPV-GLUE catalogs amino acid substitutions across all HMPV subtypes.
January 9, 2025 at 2:04 PM
High-quality alignments representing all HMPV sequences are contained within HMPV-GLUE.

GLUE's module system allows export of alignment partitions, based on reference sequence coordinates.

For example here we export a phosphoprotein alignment for HMPV (lineage B2).

All HMPV sequences contained in GenBank are curated in HMPV-GLUE, complete with extracted metadata.

Additionally, all sequences contained in HMPV-GLUE have been typed using MLCA.
January 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM
HMPV-GLUE includes a robust typing tool that classifies HMPV isolates into subtypes and lineages using maximum likelihood clade assignment (MLCA).

Introducing HMPV-GLUE: a comprehensive, open-source resource for human metapneumovirus (HMPV) research.

With the recent rise in HMPV cases in China, this tool offers timely support for the scientific community.
