My PhD research is looked at #UniversalCredit, #SocialHarm and #SocialReproduction. I used qualitative longitudinal interviews, participant diary entries and autoethnography. This was organised using thematic and narrative analysis. It’s now available online for those interested!

Almost every senior manager in UK universities seems to be making the same bet, under the misapprehension that the university is the buildings rather than the people.
Just straight up ‘we are willing to wager that new buildings are more important to the operation and reputation of the University than having enough staff to actually teach the students they’re supposed to help recruit’

Grateful to have spent 3 days on the Strictly Come Writing retreat at Gladstone’s Library, organised by @socrevdev.bsky.social .The structured time & inspiring setting helped me finish almost a full draft! Fantastic to work alongside brilliant researchers from across the UK.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.
