Every once in a while I am reminded (likely because of the tech nonsense we see so often) and get frustrated by—even still—Pres. Obama’s art history/jobs comments. I hadn’t known, or didn’t remember, that he apologized for them. It’s a decent apology, too. I’m glad I read this today.
Pres Obama’s apology letter to Dr. Ann Johns of UT Austin: “Ann Let me apologize for my off-the-cuff remarks. I was making a point about the jobs market, not the value of art history. As it so happens, art history was one of my favorite subjects in high school, and it has helped me take in a great deal of joy in my life that I might otherwise have missed. Normal like this?
The current Gov of California snuggles on a rug with his ex-wife for some dumb photo shoot. He looks fucking creepy. She looks like she is trying to appear fierce but just seems like she’s holding in a fart. His right hand holds hers; his left hand is pretty close to her boob. If I were her dad this would probably bother me. The room is elaborate and fancy but also kind of tacky. The furniture seems weighty and uncomfortable. Out the window is some bit of blue sea. They are far enough away from it that I assume they would take a limo down there instead of walk. None of this is normal or regular; it once I think seemed like boudoir coronation photos of the new power couple but now just seems sad

Who can remember such banalities in these strange days) who on the left is making an unhappy face, as if she has tasted something vile, and in the right looks as if she has tasted the essence of her word “eureka.” Anyway, next to the left lady are the words “A statue of a confederate general,” and the right one “The White House.”

So much of this is depressing as hell. But these lines somehow hurt the most. “Just going to be trans references.” Fuck all the way off.
