Ahh, not quite as egregious then. I don't think most would touch him with a barge pole now. Unless they want to shift a warehouse full of essential oils.

November: VOIN.

Holy shit, I've no idea how this one has gone under the radar. A first person hack and slash, imagine Diablo from the perspective of an Elder Scrolls game, but the combat is sublime and the options for your build are absolutely nuts, especially considering it's a solo dev.
VOIN on Steam
Crafted by a solo developer, VOIN is a first-person hack-and-slash. Cleave through hordes of enemies in fast-paced combat. Explore dark fantasy realms filled with secrets and dangers. Discover powerfu...

October: Baby Steps.

I didn't expect to love this game as much as I did. While it's a frustration-simulator on the face of it, it somehow turned into a very heartfelt tale, told through the medium of a fat man with a jiggly bottom trying to climb up slight inclines.
Baby Steps on Steam
Play as Nate, an unemployed failson with nothing going for him, until one day he discovers a power he never knew he had… putting one foot in front of the other.

September: Deadzone Rogue.

I got absolutely hooked on this for a solid month, a roguelike shooter that's not that much of a roguelike, but is very much of a shooter. The gunplay is fantastic, and the synergies are great. In EA right now, I've completed what's there so looking forward to more.
Deadzone: Rogue on Steam

July: Drova.

I was really enjoying it, then I got distracted by something else. Really need to go back to it; a grim-dark CRPG if CRPG's were action based instead of dice rolls.
Drova - Forsaken Kin on Steam
Drova is an Action-RPG that marries the dark grim tones of its genre with the mysticism of Celtic mythology. Encounter a society where ancient restless spirits and divided factions battle for dominanc...

June: Severed Steel.

Picked up for, I think, £1 and played it through from start to finish in 3.5 hours. It's a balls to the wall FPS with destructible scenery and is basically a John Woo film with a gun cannon attached to its arm.
Severed Steel on Steam
An intense single-player FPS featuring a stylish movement system, completely destructible levels, and an acclaimed OST.

May: StarVaders.

Not quite sure why this hasn't become more of a darling indie game, considering it's a deckbuilder AND a roguelike, but combining those two things with Space Invaders works brilliantly. Looks and sounds great to boot.
