I think I want to sidestep any of the sadder stories. I’m a fan of Last Christmas, for example, but sometimes that ‘every Christmas is last Christmas’ concept is a bit much to handle

Yeah, I found it really insightful regarding River’s character when she’s ‘solo’. Influenced how I wrote her opposite the Master for BF: she’s a bit more ruthless and amoral than a traditional hero
