yah, same here. the south & midwestern US is largely undeveloped, so construction jobs are much more common & you see a lot more trucks than you would in a city. just economic necessity.

mostly a myth (like the myth of 'poor' farmers), it's really about being able to haul tools & equipment or being able to move your family. trucks are pretty expensive. wealthier guys will have a work truck & a fancier 'out on the town' truck, however. 😆

it's admittedly more of a southern/rural thing than a northern/urban one.
outside of major population centers in the southern US there's rarely any sidewalks or public transportation, so to go anywhere- even just a mile or two, you HAVE to have a vehicle. it's that way where I live.

because they're fairly soundproof/private & it's where they spend a lot of their time... & take calls.
a lot of Americans like sitting in their vehicles in big parking lots, too. I don't know why. sometimes you'll see trucks parked parallel w/both drivers talking thru their windows.

I like being snowed in. there's a special quiet to it, & everybody stops running & driving around so fast.

tbh, so am I. we don't get much snow here.
I grew up in the NE where it would snow for days. there hasn't been anything like that here in VA in almost 30 years.
