Just another transmasc local area cryptid. Sightings reported at bookstores and coffee shops in Maryland.

Here mostly to talk about books, especially fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and MM romance.

I started playing this last week and I am deep in it. Every time I unlock a piece of the puzzle is so satisfying!

It’s hard to pick a favorite AOT character because I don’t want to get attached 😂 (but also I love Hange)

We often talk about our AOT night as being our escapism from how fucked up current events are by watching imaginary trauma, so Full Metal Alchemist will be a natural progression 🤣

My friend and I have been doing weekly-ish AOT night for the last 6months and are starting season 4 this week! This show is a RIDE.

Next up will be Full Metal Alchemist 😵

I’m so excited!

Thank you!

Enjoy! It’s one I pick up and re-read every now and then when I want something quick and light.

Have you read Coffee Boy by Austin Chant? It’s a lovely little romance novella

Offering helpful advice is the part and parcel of friendliness though. Clearly you are only looking out for their mental health! They must be suffering quite badly if the mere existence of a book they don’t like is enough to make them miserable.

I picked up the Dark Rise books not knowing the series wasn’t finished yet. I have been in AGONY ever since 😭. The ending of Dark Heir was devastating!

Miscommunication tropes make me so frustrated! Sprinkled in here and there, it’s fine, but at a certain point they start to feel really forced. I DNF’d a book recently that took it way too far. There are other ways to create tension in a relationship and drive a narrative forward!

I read Stupid Cupid a couple years ago. Will be interested in your take!

Have fun! Sounds like an interesting project. Looking forward to hearing the results 🙂

I’d read a bunch of comics with monster fucking/romance. The mead and mishaps series was my first fully prose monster romance, and they were great!

Yes! I agree.

I think this one hits on it better than most. The MCs attraction manages to be sexual without being fetishizing. And her love of the exploring the non-human city feels very open and curious rather than voyueristic. It’s really fun.

Who hasn’t had an unusual hyper focus now and then?

How detailed are you wanting to get? Weight of adhesive used for the binding? That would be neat!

As a Goldsmith, we used jewelers calipers down to 0.01mm. Would measuring a chunk of pages at 0.001mm and doing some math about it be workable?

Paper is usually measured by weight, so you could always weigh the book, divide by number of pages, and compare that way. Might be a minor difference for covers, but assuming you are weighing paperbacks of a similar size, you should have a pretty decent way to compare weight per page.

Something about the MC’s sense of wonder and possibility as she explores the non-human city where she works reminds me of some of my queer firsts: visiting Capitol Hill in Seattle, checking out the gay bar across town, or hanging out at a kink club. 2/2

I was anti-dog ear for most of my life. Sometime in the last year-ish I decided to stop being so precious with things that I own and have started again. When I put books in my bag, the bookmarks tend to fall out, so it’s just easier and faster to fold the corner.

Never with borrowed books though!

Over the Garden Wall is one of my comfort watches as well!

I’m so sorry, friend. Losing a cat is so hard, especially when they are sick.

In other news, it might be time to play Paradise Killer again. If you’ve read Nona the Ninth, it’s got very similar vibes.
